Thanks for finding your way here! Subscriptions help us keep our lights on, our servers humming, and the alerts flowing.
And at just $2.95/month per car, supporting us costs no more than a small latte.
So what do I do?
- Register if you haven't yet (it's super easy).
- Click a subscription button. (When you come back here after logging in there will be buttons you can use to subscribe.)
You'll need a placard (postcard-sign) for ItsCarma to work for you. You can print your own if no restaurants or shops in your neighborhood have them.
So if I sign up, whenever something happens to my car, I'll get an alert?
Alas, no. We can't guarantee that you'll get messages. But the more people in your neighborhood who know about ItsCarma, the better your chances of having someone send you that "street cleaning" (or whatever) message when you need it. And from there, we'll do our best to get it to you. Again, though, no guarantees--it largely depends on the willingness of others to help out when they see something amiss.
How can I pay?
Payments are through PayPal. The usual credit/debit cards are accepted, and if you have a PayPal account, that works too.
How long is a subscription?
A subscription lasts one month, and renews automatically every month unless you cancel via PayPal.
How can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel via PayPal. If you cancel, the subscription is prevented from continuing for subsequent months, while continuing to run through the end of its current month.
How do alerts work if I subscribe for more than one car?
Alerts for all cars in this subscription will go to the one phone number associated with your account.
I subscribed for two cars. What do I do now?
If you subscribe for two or more cars, then after subscribing, don't forget to go to your account to add the additional license plate information! (We'll remind you again after you get back from the PayPal pages.)
I have a basic one-car subscription, but want to add another car. What should I do?
The two things you have to do are (1) get a two-car subscription, and (2) be sure you go to PayPal and cancel the one-car subscription. After you cancel it, the one-car subscription will remain active through its current month, but will not renew.
I want to prank my best friend with ItsCarma. Is that ok?
No. Sending prank alerts or otherwise bogus alerts violates our Acceptable Use Policy
and can be dangerous and lead to damage to people and property. It is absolutely not allowed.
I'd like to join, but I'm worried about getting bogus or harassing messages.
As a registered user, one of the settings in your account is who you will accept alerts from. The default is to accept alerts from logged-in users only. This will keep you from getting alerts sent by anyone who's not logged in. If you have that setting selected, and still you feel that someone is violating our Acceptable Use Policy
(which prohibits threatening behavior and sending bogus alerts), please let us know
and we will work with you to resolve the situation.
Where should I put the placard?
Attaching the placard to the inside of the rear window on your car may give you the best chance of it being seen, but use your best judgement on that. Make sure you choose a safe place for it (one that's not blocking your view).
